Would You like to Be a Volunteer This Summer?
Here are the requirements:
You must be at least 16 years of age and have a signed release from your parents.
You will be given 1/2 week at camp for every week you work. You can use these weeks yourself or give them away to someone else.
Here are the rules you must be willing to follow:
- All our helpers must understand that they are workers in the camp and not campers for the week or weeks that they work. (That is to say that your main purpose for being at the camp will be to work for the Lord with others of us in the camp.) You will be given free time when your work is finished and you are dismissed. Your free time activities should not distract the campers from the director's program. If you wish to take part in the camp activities, you may do so only with permission from your supervisor and the director.
- While on duty, you will be under a supervisor. In the kitchen, that supervisor will be the cooks or the dining room manager. For field work, your supervisor will be Dan or his assistant. During your off-duty time you will be subject to the authority of the director and any rules that he imposes, such as quiet time, etc.
- There will be a curfew for you simply because your work demands a good nights sleep.
- A positive attitude is a must. Any problems or complaints should be discussed with your supervisor or with Dan.
- While at camp, you must be flexible. Some days you will be needed in different areas of work. Other days, you may have a special project as well as your regular routine.
- Your work week will begin at 3:30 on Sunday afternoon and end at noon on Saturday. As a worker, you will be asked to do at least 6 hours of work daily. These 6 hours should reflect actual work, not the time you spend in other activites.
We look forward to you coming and working with us and we hope it will be a great experience for you.
