Chris Goldman: Morning Speaker
Chris Goldman

Chris Goldman is the preaching minister for the Northwest Church. He is a graduate of both Abilene Christian University (BS) and Pepperdine University (MS). He is the husband of Kim Goldman of Puyallup and father of Ashley and Joshua, students at Pepperdine University. After graduation from ACU in 1987, he served for 18 months in Ft. Worth, TX before moving to California in 1988. He was blessed to serve the Tri-Valley church in Livermore, CA for six years and the Cordova church in Sacramento for 14 years before relocating to the Pacific Northwest in August of 2009. Goldman has been a speaker at both ACU and Pepperdine University as well as regional events such as the Great Northwest Evangelism Workshop (GNEW) and Renewal Northwest. He has directed at four youth camps during his ministry and more recently served as a keynote speaker at camp events and retreats. His passion is the preaching and teaching of God's Word and leadership development.



Mark Scott: Evening Speaker
Mark Scott

Ministry:  Presently serves as Academic Dean at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri.  Has taught New Testament and Preaching at OCC since 1983. South Fork Church of Christ, Rochester, Il (1976-1983)--preaching minister. Granby Christian Church, Granby, MO (1972-1976)--preaching minister (student ministry). Arlington Church of Christ, Arlington, IA (summer, 1972)--interim preaching minister.   

Education: Denver Seminary (D.Min.)--December, 2006.

              Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (summer, 1988).

              Lincoln Christian Seminary (M.Div.)--1983.

              Ozark Christian College (B.Th.)--graduated class orator, 1976.

              East High School--National Honor Society, 1971.

Academic Societies:  Academy of Homiletics (member), Evangelical Homiletical Society (member), Evangelical Theological Society (attend).

Writing: "Reflections" in Christian Standard, Lamp devotionals from Acts and Nehemiah, "Biblical Preaching" (chapter) in The Mind of Christ (College Press), "Christian Love" (chapter) in Essentials of Christian Practice  (College Press), a book entitled, Sermons On the Gospels (Standard Publishing), "Cracking the Door" (chapter) in Preaching Through Tears, two articles on "Worship" in the March 5 & 12, 2000,  Lookout, a chapter on the Beatitudes, "Blessings," in The Preacher's Teacher, and a tribute to Seth Wilson in College Faith, helped edit A Humble Defense (College Press), and various other articles.

Ministry Abroad: Barbados (1987), Scotland (1988), British Columbia, Canada (1990) Santiago, Chile (1993), Ontario, Canada (1994 & 2001), Alberta, Canada (1995), Israel (2000), Germany (2000, 2006), Caracas, Venezuela (2008).

Preaching and Teaching:  Speak outside the teaching ministry of OCC 35-50 times per year.  Regularly teach in CIY summer and winter conferences.  NACC in 1990,1996, 1999, 2006, and 2008.  State Conventions in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Dakota, Eastern, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Michigan, and Wisconsin.  National Missionary Convention in 2001 and 2006.

Family:  Married Carla Parker Dec. 18, 1972.  Four children:  Casey  (4/20/76) Corey  (2/5/79), Annie (5/23/84), and Allison  (6/12/92).  Six grandchildren:  Emma (9/28/00), Eli (6/21/02); Ethan (8/16/02); Kaylee (5/28/05 Eden (1/3/06) and Bentley Dean (10/27/08).
