Every year we have an amazing group of people aged 14-18 that come and serve at camp as part of Work Crew. It is our desire that each person who serves in the this important position has fun, works hard, grows spiritually, and builds great relationships with others.
Work crew basically does three things:
- Serve, as part of a team, in the kitchen
- Serve, as part of a team, through work projects (various service projects in off weeks)
- Serve, as part of a team, the campers and volunteers / directors as able
In order to be on Work Crew you must commit to at least one week of service but most work crew are invited to participate at as many weeks during the summer (June 20th – August 20th) as they want / are able. During weeks of camp the Work Crew helps in the kitchen primarily but also participates in some camper activities as extra hands / servers. On weeks of the summer when we do not have our own camps Work Crew focuses its efforts on completing projects to improve the camp (things like blazing trails, making signs, helping with repairs, setting up for upcoming camps, etc).
The Work Crew is a team of volunteers but we do offer a week of camp, redeemable by you or any family member, completely free of charge. You can only earn one week per summer.
Work Crew members are characterized by a positive attitude, a willingness to serve, a good work ethic, and a desire to serve others and God at camp. We like people who are always asking “how can I help” and “what’s next?” and love working as part of a team.
